Cutting down on sugar intake can be one of the best ways to not only lose weight but is healthy in many other way as well.
No More Soda
Removing soda from your diet can be one of the biggest changes you can make when it comes to sugar intake for most. It can also be one of the hardest. Water is by far the best drink to replace your soda addiction. However, many want something with some taste. Try unsweetened tea or real fruit drinks instead.
Fresh versus Canned
Replacing the canned fruits you use with fresh or frozen. Most canned fruits are canned with syrup and added sugar that greatly increases to amount of sugar you consume whether intended or not. Fresh fruit has lots of other good health benefits as well.
Make it from Scratch
When preparing meals its almost always healthier to make it from scratch. While it can take longer to prepare in some instances it has better benefits as well. Many prepared foods you purchase for the convenience are also not nearly as healthy. Most contain higher levels of sugar and salt used in preserving it.
Condiments
Keep and eye on the condiments you add to your meals. While not always something we think about during the course of our meals some can add a chunk of sugar and salt, that we otherwise might not consume.
Look at the label
Perhaps on of the easiest things we can do is look at the labels on the foods we buy. By reading the labels we can be informed as to what is actually in our meals.
