10 Habits for Successful Weight Loss

March 4, 2020 By Rob & Ashley Leave a Comment

Losing weight is a battle many face.  Being overweight causes health, and emotional issues.  We’ve compiled a list of 10 habits to follow for successful weight loss.

Make the Decision and Stick with It

Committing to a healthy lifestyle is the first step in the process.  Make every effort to stick with it.  It’s not a race to the finish, but a lifestyle change.  You didn’t get the way you are now overnight, don’t expect to get to your end goal overnight either.

Change Up Your Routine

Don’t try to keep doing the same thing day in and day out.  Your more likely to give up if you get bored.  Change up your exercise routine.  Try new meals or combinations of each.

Stay Active

Exercise can come in many forms.  Not just the gym.  Walk the beach.  Take a hike.  Bike to work.  The gym can get boring quick.  The more active you stay doing things you enjoy the more likely you’ll be successful in your weight loss journey.

Eat fewer Processed Foods

Focus on eating whole foods. Eat meals that are less processed and contain less refined sugars.  Prepare your meals ahead of time and avoid fast foods.

Skip the Soda

Sodas are full of sugar and empty calories.

Drink More Water

Water is natures wonder drug.  We can’t survive without it.  Our bodies are more than half water.  Water helps remove waste and boost our metabolism.

Eat Breakfast

Eating breakfast in the morning helps set the tone for the rest of the day.  Eating breakfast boosts your metabolism at the start of the day and give you energy to help burn off more calories from the start.

Focus on the Fiber

Foods high in fiber help fill you up faster.  By feeling fuller after eating your more likely to find yourself snacking as much.

Get a Buddy

We tend to do better facing our goals when we have friends around.  Friends help keep our morale up.  Friends keep pushing ourselves to meet our goals.

Keep Track of Your Calories

In order to lose weight we need take in less calories than we burn.  Keeping track of what we’re eating will help us reach our goal faster.

These habits for successful weight loss won’t cause you to lose all you want right away.  Weight loss can be a lifetime journey.  Think of it as a lifestyle change for healthier living.
