March 1, 2020 By Rob & Ashley 3 Comments

Traveling is a dream of many. Whether it be traveling for the holiday’s to visit family or a weekend get away our finances are usually the limiting factor to just how much we are able to do.  The great thing is though, their are plenty on online jobs you can do while traveling.  In this post we will cover just a few of the many jobs that you can do to make some cash while traveling where ever you want to.

Online Sales

Selling online is one way many people get their start with an online business.  There are many ways to sell online.  If you want to sell products online but don’t want to warehouse the goods and don’t want make the daily packaging and shipping routines, it’s still possible.  Many companies worldwide sell online but don’t actually ship the products they sell.  One way of running a eCommerce business this way is by using drop shipping services.. Drop shipping is when you have a website of your own, and when an item sells, you buy it from your distributor, and then they ship it direct to you customer.  It can often take some research to find a good drop shipping partner but they do exist.

Another way of running an online shop while allowing somebody else to handle the shipping and handling is by using a fulfillment service.  You can find many companies that offer fulfillment services such as FedEx.  One of the more popular service is Fulfilled by Amazon.  Amazon FBA allows you to use their warehouses to store your products for items you sell on their marketplace as well as anywhere else for a fee.

Blogging and Affiliate Marketing

Blogging is simply a way of writing on a subject you know about, or can write in a way that others want to read online.  Blog about a subject that is important to you or a subject you think you can pass information along to help others.  Once you get a following than you can monetize your blog to make income.  Blogs can be monetized in various ways.  One way to monetize your blog is to add an online store.

You can add courses to your blog to teach others. People looking to learn about a subject quick are willing to pay for quality courses.

A blog can make money by adding advertising for other businesses.

Lastly a blog can make money through affiliate marketing.  Affiliate marketing is when you recommend an item, or service, etc. on your site and someone then purchases that item, that is linked to the original seller and you receive a percentage for sending the customer to them.  Many of the top blogs today make money this way.  Affiliate marketing can be done many ways online and not just with a blog.

Many entrepreneurs take advantage of social media to run their businesses.  Facebook and Pinterest make a good media for affiliate marketing, as does YouTube if you’d rather make videos.  Entrepreneurs of all ages can make money, a recent article in Forbes Magazine detailed an six year old that along with his parents made over $11 million just last year on YouTube alone.

Selling Photographs

You can make money off the photos you take.  Even if you’re not a professional photographer, companies today will buy photos from you.  The nice thing about earning income from selling your photos is with the quality of many smart phones today, you most likely always have a camera with you nowadays.  You can then sell or license unique photos to companies that in turn sell or license them to other businesses that use them in advertising, blogs, websites, etc.

Freelance Work

Freelancing today is greater than it’s ever been.  Freelancing is simply working for yourself without actually being employed full time by another company.  Companies and individuals both hire freelancers for various jobs.  Freelancers do work on virtually anything. From graphic design, to website building, to SEO work, a job can be found in many industries.  Sites such a Fiverr and Upwork and many others now make it easier than ever to find freelance work.  Experts say the freelance and independent employment now make up over 30% of the workforce.

Proofreading and Transcription

If your good at typing, transcribing for others may be a good fit for you.  Many doctors, lawyers, and other professionals often hire transcriptions to type up recorded sessions.

Proofreading is another job often in high demand by professionals.  Just like you always wanted to make sure to use spell check back in high school or college before you turned in that research paper, professionals don’t want to submit their work without it first being checked for grammar and correct notation, etc. and will therefore pay someone to make sure its correct.  Proofreading jobs can be found on the same sites with other freelancing jobs as well as companies that specialize in hiring just proofreaders online.

Teaching English

People in other countries will pay others from English speaking countries to teach English online.  This makes a good job for teachers part-time or former teachers with teaching experience.  Many websites now hire freelancers to teach English to students in china.  The most well known of these companies is VIPKID a Chinese based company that also has an office in California.

Virtual Assistant

Just as professionals will hire proofreaders and transcriptionists, virtual assistants are also in high demand.  Many jobs today, with the help of the internet, can be outsourced far from where a business or office is based, and virtual assistant has become one of them.  A virtual assistant does many administrative jobs that can include proofreading, creating and answering emails, editing, managing social media accounts, etc.  Many small businesses today outsource a lot of their work to enable them to focus more of their core business and virtual assistants that prove they can multi-task and work independently can readily make a full-time income online.
