10 Date Ideas When You Have Kids

March 22, 2019 By Rob & Ashley 1 Comment

Every parent knows that finding time to spend together, just the two of you can be hard once you have kids.  Finding times to enjoy a date can be tough but not impossible.  Here are some ideas to spend some time together without hurting your wallet.

Nighttime

Pizza Night

Grab a few pizzas and eat in.  You can share with the kids or make them eat their own dinner.  Time together is what matters most.

Double Date

Invite another couple over and make dinner in.  They can bring their little ones and have a play date as the adults enjoy time among themselves.

Game Night

Breakout the board games or challenge your other half to a new video game.  Just don’t let get to overly competitive or you may end up regretting this one.

Movie Night

It’s easier than ever to find a new movie or show right from the comfort of your couch.  Stream the newest flick and enjoy a quiet couch date after the kids are in bed.

Baby Sitting Group Swap

Find another couple or two and agree to watch each others kids and let the other get a free night out.  Get some free time to spend together, while having your kids stay with people you trust.

Day Date Ideas

Long Walk

Visit a local park or find a quiet backroad and take a long, quiet walk.  Just you two spending some quality time together.

Take a Class

Find something you both would like to learn a enroll in a class together.  Cooking, creating, anything you can do together.  You never know, you could find a new skill you could make some extra money with afterwards.

Picnic Date

Pack a lunch and find a spot to have a picnic.  A park, or even your backyard can be a place to spend some quality time together without having to schedule or pay for.

Get a Massage

Get a couples massage.  Enjoy spending time with each other and come away feeling relaxed.

Lunch Date

Go get lunch together.  It doesn’t have to be much just a place to hangout just the two of you.  Have a drink or two but remember to get a taxi home if you do.
